[News] Pouch unveiled for the Genki Covert Dock

Written by Kieran Fifield

Exclusive to Kickstarter backers

Not content with absolutely destroying their Kickstarter goals, the wonderful people over at Human Things; creators of the Genki Bluetooth Adapter for Nintendo Switch as well as the upcoming Covert Dock, have added an exclusive product for Kickstarter backers.

This handy pouch will snugly store your Covert dock, meaning all you will ever need is this, and your Switch, and you’re hot to trot wherever you go.

Probably Brexit related

Silly EU/UK laws mean that the design of a foldable model might be off the cards in these territories. Unfortunately for lovers of all things streamlined, it now seems as though the model will be a little more bulky than originally anticipated. That’s not to say it’s going to be big though. If anyone can find a solution, it’s the guys over at Human Things.

And as we always say over here at Nintendad, safety first!!

Finally, strenuous stress testing is scheduled for next month on 200-300 units, which include:

Drop / Smash Testing: Repeated drop testing at standing height and smash testing by dropping a stainless steel ball onto the Covert Dock.

Case Flammability: Incinerating the Covert Dock to make sure it wont catch fire after fire has been removed.

Puncture Test: Using a big nail and scientifically hammer it into covert dock to make sure the case is strong enough to overcome “normal” usage.

Surge Test: Pulsing 1000 voltages into the covert dock, to make sure it can handle even the greatest instability in the grid.

Port Stress Test: Plugging in ports and unplugging it over 10,000 times to a docked Switch to make sure it will be durable over time.

All in all, the Genki Covert Dock is coming along nicely. We here at Nintendad Manor cant wait to get our hands on one in December.

The Genki Covert dock is, at the time of writing, entering its final 3 days. Make sure you act now to secure, what has the potential, to be a game changer.
