The #Switcherazzi

Written by Kieran Fifield

Trying to create something different is a challenge enough in itself. Trying to make waves is an entirely different kettle of fish.

The #Switcherazzi is a gathering of like minded individuals, namely Nintendo journalists. Over on that most wonderful of social media platforms, Twitter, we are creating something of a movement, a borg like hive mind where we share, influence and inspire each other to be the best writers and to create the best content that we can

Now we need to find the best platform to push this idea forward.
Do we use social media?

Or create a website that we can call our own, somewhere to share all the content we create for our own websites.
Somewhere to call home.

Will it take off? Probably not, but if you don’t try, you don’t get.

In other news, I love Gutenberg

So in what seems like the most needed update since anybody last turned on their PS4, WordPress is beta testing its new posting format, Gutenberg. I’m using it right now, it’s great. Like, really good. The premise behind it is that you build tiles, akin to the concept of Lego, and piece all your blocks together to create clean, concise content. So far, so good!

Being a parent is the greatest thing in the world. That and kidnapping princesses.

This could be quite long winded

I’m currently doing a tutorial on how to use Gutenberg. I may not have mentioned, I love it! Basically, this is an idiots guide to the new format. Change can be scary, but also very much needed.

Any excuse to throw an Eminem video into a blog post.

Next up, a list of my most recent reviews, just to demonstrate how easy it is.

I really should be thinking about wrapping this up, I’m travelling to Portugal in the morning for a friends wedding. It should be a beautiful day, the couple in question are honestly 2 of the most lovely people I know. Aside from the wedding, it will be nice to get some time with my better half and little monkey, full on family time. Because of our working schedules, we really don’t spend anytime together as a family.

Family is not an important thing. It’s everything.

So a long weekend in a country still experiencing a decent spell of summer seems exactly like what the metaphorical doctor ordered. As a side note, metaphorical doctors are the best.

With the inevitability of autumn heavy upon us, this seems like the last hurrah before work hits silly season again and life become a blur once more.

More screen grabs from days yonder

Whilst perusing my old miiverse data dump I found some cracking images.

Xenoblade Chronicles X remains a thing of beauty

Sure, the full-wide image can be pretty big. But sometimes the image is worth it.

I forget, despite its flaws, just how good the quality of games released on Nintendo consoles last generation.

Also, who misses miiverse?
I do, give me Switchverse and I’ll be a very happy chappy indeed.

Right, that’s all from me for now. My initial experience of Gutenberg has been very positive indeed, really looking forward to doing some reviews using it.

Thanks for reading

until next time…
