Call me Dry Bones

As a young up and coming chef, over a decade ago; before nappies and midnight coffees, before Nintendo so spectacularly fell from grace for trying something a little bit different, before making themselves relevant again by ironically trying something a little bit different, I worked with a man named Andrew Coy.

Every morning, Andrew Coy would drink half a pint of cider vinegar mixed with manuka honey.

‘For the arthritis Kieran, for the arthritis’ – Andrew Coy

For some reason, I’ve always remembered this. Probably due to the fact that the universe is a fickle mistress, and one day my bones too would require the delicious elixir of spoiled cider and exotic bee juice.

I used to roll a lot of joints, never smoked crack. Now my joints crack when they roll, but as of yet, no smoke..

A regular day for me is long and energetic. <Insert ‘That’s what she said’ joke, crowd erupts with laughter, ROFL, SCENE>

On average I’m active, on my feet for 15 hours and at the end of the day every joint on my body aches. As a dad, chef, guitarist and lover of video games, as well as a semi professional typist, I use my fingers a lot.  <Insert ‘That’s what she said’ joke, crowd erupts with laughter, ROFL, SCENE>

The older that I get, the more I notice the little aches and pains, the irritating clicks and crunches as I turn suddenly during a busy service or whilst chasing after my little monkey.

I try not to moan to much, we’ve all got issues right, but sometimes – more so after days like today, where I literally haven’t had a moment for myself, well, sometimes a man just needs to vent. Isn’t that the reason I have this blog?

Writing, podcasts and video content

I genuinely enjoy writing, I believe I do it reasonably well. But it takes a heavy toll on me personally. I can spend hours tapping away at my little illuminated keys, jotting down my thoughts; whether they be my incomprehensible rambling, or the more structured writing that I save for reviews.

There’s no denying that the future is video content, podcasts and vlogging. Wait, not the future, the present. I get confused sometimes. You see, I’m living in the future so the present is my past, my presence is a present… This is me at my Kanye Best, I believe it’s important not to get Kanye Stressed, but apologies, I’ve Kanye Digressed.

I would never want a books autograph. I am a proud non-reader of books.

Maybe one day I’ll dig out my recording equipment and revive the channel, use the medium of video to convey my message to my myriad of questionable cohorts. But not today. Or probably tomorrow. Certainly not yesterday.

I recently reviewed a product, the Aixmeet case for Nintendo Switch and that really helped me to game more comfortably. I won’t bore you with the details but if you fancy, you can read the review here.

If you don’t fancy it though, that’s cool. Here’s a little gallery. We all love pictures right?!

Other news

I’ve signed up for NaNoWriMo, so in November I will be finally attempting to pen my self deprecating novel. Should be interesting, 50,000 words in a month, sure…

As well as that I’m making great progress with the video game that I’m currently writing and designing, having potentially – with a little help from Brian, overcome a design flaw.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m finding it increasingly  difficult to write due to the aforementioned bone aches.

Until next time
