An open letter to everybody

To all you beautiful people,

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, it’s Christmas again and as we all sit down to indulge on anything and everything, here at Nintendad Manor I would just like to take a moment to reflect upon the year before embarking on humouring my nemesis, gluttony…

As 2018 awoke from the slumber of its younger sibling – 2017, Nintendad was an irrelevant little blog and I was nothing more than the greenest of writers.

Scrap that, I was a guy who loved 3 things. His family, Nintendo and writing. Little did I know that by years end all 3 of these things would culminate in me being the EIC of my own Nintendo reviews site.

But that’s exactly what has transpired and as I sit here writing this, having previously reviewed Pokémon Let’s Go: Eevee and being in the process of putting the finishing touches to my Super Smash Bros. Ultimate review; with my Switch to my left, in tabletop mode displaying the eloquently named New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (which incidentally I’m also covering), I find it utterly surreal that I have the honour of reviewing Nintendo games.

It’s something I could only dream of when I started doing this in April, and it’s not something I  take lightly as I’m aware that there are much larger Nintendo sites with far greater reaches than my own that miss out.

Aside from the aforementioned Nintendo heavy hitters, I have covered a plethora of indie titles. I was lucky enough to cover a game I’ve had my eyes on for a very long time – Monster Boy and The Cursed Kingdom, and the stunningly stylised GRIS  as well as the ‘no holds barred’ Aaero.

My point being,  I’m incredibly grateful to be in the position that I’m in and  would just like to thank everybody who has helped me and my humble site get to where we are today.

To all the guys over at The Switch Effect who gave me an opportunity to write and get my voice heard, thank you. I wouldn’t have the reach I have today without the platform that you provided me with.  I will forever be grateful to you all.

To every writer who has helped me control the influx of codes that Nintendad has been fortunate enough to receive, you have my sincerest appreciation and I hope you all receive the recognition that you deserve.
My eternal gratitude goes to:

Last But Not Least, the enigmatic Brian Climpson (GET TWITTER)

To every publisher, PR agency and tech company that has provided products for review to keep the content flowing, thank you for your trust in helping to get up and running. I look forward to many more collaborations in 2019.

As well as that, I’d like to save special thanks to all my Switcherazzi people and especially to Mike from Rapid Reviews UK who also started his own incredible site this year and has been a real help both professionally and personally.

From myself and everybody associated with Nintendad, Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

We hope you all enjoy what we have in store, I know I’m excited.

Seasons Greetings,

Your friendly neighbourhood Nintendad.
